So a lot of people ask me a lot of questions, what I was doing prior to Beautifeyes, where I’m at with my business, how I got started with my business.
So I thought this would be the perfect time to tell you a little bit about my business.
So I saved money. I quit my job and I was going to pursue what I really want to pursue. But if you’ve always had a job, it’s scary to go without having a job.
I quit my job. I was in Sydney and everybody had these lash extensions.
So while I was there, I took a course.
Let me see if this is something I’ll even be good at.
I figured, okay, if I could do four or five clients a week, I’ll charge them a hundred dollars, $150.
That’s what I was thinking at the time, I could be making 400, $500 a week. I could get by.
I took the course in Thailand.
It was really difficult at first, but I didn’t give up. I kept trying.
How am I going to promote this? How am I going to get clients? Let me start an facebook page for it.
I would do anybody who would let me play on their lashes.
I started with all my friends and my friends would then promote me.
I was doing a lot of before and after pictures and that was getting a lot of people’s attentions.
So for me, I was overwhelmed. I then thought, Oh my God, this is going to be my business.
So I thought if I could set up my business, this will be my income.
This will be my business that will generate me money.
My family at the time, didn’t get it. So when I wanted to start this, my parents didn’t know how to help me, you know?
And I didn’t expect them to try to help me. I just gotta figure it out.
So I started researching everything on Google and I started taking the steps that I needed to take to make this a legit business.
At the time I was doing everybody’s lashes from my apartment. And I had everybody from Instagram going there.
And then I started to think about it. Oh my God, I can’t have everybody from Instagram come here.
So I started renting a space. I started renting from there.
I would pay $500 a month. I just started to build my clientele. And I just thought, I’m going to build my clientele.
I’m going to work. I used to work when I tell you guys, I used to work from probably 10:00 AM, was my first client.
And I would not finish until eight, nine, sometimes even midnight, because I was not about to turn down a client. I had never made this amount of money.
So I was in awe, I was a lash dealer, what is happening?
This is crazy also. I think growing up, you don’t look at a beautician, or a beauty expert.
And you think, Oh my God, there that’s a successful career.
So I didn’t even know, what was possible, what amount of income you can get from a career like this.
So I was just in shock, I’m just going to work hard as much as I can, as long as I can.
And that’s what I’ve been doing. Okay. So in the midst of all that, I’m working, working and then boom, I get married and I get pregnant at the time.
It was just me by myself doing everybody’s lashes at this, at this point.
Now I’ve built a really big clientele. The problem was that they only wanted me to do their lashes.
Okay. And now I worked my entire pregnancy. I literally was scared to hire people.
If you’re in a business like this, you know, it’s always a risk hiring people.
You they’re either going to take your clients or you just don’t fully trust people.
I was about to deliver. I knew I needed to hire, you know, girls. So I hired three girls to start with.
And then with hiring employees and with, and with your company, growing each level of success is gonna come with different responsibilities and different problems.
So then I had added three girls to the team before it was just me by myself with one, you know, one bed.
Now I had three beds and I had multiple clients at the same time.
So I thought, okay, let me, let me open up my own shop. Now with that came a lot of fear, you know, a bigger, overhead, more of a commitment.
I was also having a baby and I think she was also my motivation to really do it and really go for it.
And if I’m going to do it, this is the time to do it. So I did it. I opened Beautifeyes, beauty bar in Sydney.
And that is my main baby. I get asked all the time, am I going to open more? I would love to open more.
I’m always debating where to open the next Beautifeyes.
But until then, I’ve been focusing on teaching my Online Eyelash Extension Courses.
The most thing that I enjoy right now is teaching other people the skill.
I love the online training just because I, when I first did my class, it was a really big group and I don’t feel like I learned that well. So I enjoy the online course.
I also like to keep the relationship with my students. I usually like to hire within what I trained.
So I will be doing more classes. And when I first started doing classes, I was giving people a kit of everything that I was using at the time.
I always said, Oh, eventually I want to do my own products. And I want to, you know, sell everything that I love.
I don’t want to just sell a whole bunch of things just to sell if I’m not using them.
So I’m all about work and play and having a balance. And I think that’s really important. In every aspect of your life, having a balance planning, a bigger 2021.
And it’ll also be all types of levels, training and affordability. Cause I know a lot of people can’t afford the one-on-one.
